The World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB) has been held every four years since 1990. The Congress was successfully held in San Diego (1990), Amsterdam (1994), Sapporo (1998), Calgary (2002) and Munich (2006). Since the first WCB, the Congress has witnessed the growth in the number of participants. The 5th WCB in Munich, Germany attracted around 2,600 delegates from all over the world. At WCB 2010 in Singapore, we expect the number of delegates to further increase.

The World Congress of Biomechanics series, is deemed as the platform for informative, interactive and relevance for scientist and academics to meet and share their work. The time lag of four years between each congress allows the researchers to work and present their latest work at each congress. Thus, with the growth of its participants year on year, its size and quality of exhibitors and sponsors has also grown exponentially.
